Shows the customer their running total
A customer display faces the shopper rather than the operator, showing the items scanned, the running total and the change due. Any counter that wants to show the customer what they're being charged, rather than just telling them, benefits from one. Start by deciding between a second monitor and a small dedicated pole display, then check how it connects to the till.

How to choose one
Display type
A second monitor gives the most room and can show slides or promotions when idle; a small pole display is cheaper and shows only a couple of lines of text.
Connection
A second monitor connects like any other screen; a dedicated pole display usually connects over USB or serial and needs the till software to support it directly.
Screen size
A tablet-sized second screen can show a full running cart; a narrow pole display only fits a line or two, such as the total and amount tendered.
Mounting
Check the display can be angled towards the customer's side of the counter without blocking the operator's own screen.
Payment QR
If the till shows a payment QR code for the customer to scan, a screen large enough to scan comfortably works better than a small text-only pole display.
With the software
Does it work with BixiCash?
Shown in our demo: a second-screen customer display with the running bill, amount paid and change; a driver-connected pole display does not ship today.

About customer displays
Does the customer display update in real time as I scan?
Yes in the demo: each scanned line, the total and the change due update as the sale is built.
Can I use a plain second monitor instead of a pole display?
Yes: a second browser window on a second monitor is how the demo shows it today.
Will a dedicated pole display work today?
Not yet: a driver-connected pole display is planned; today the customer display is a second screen, not a serial pole unit.
What shows on the screen when there's no sale in progress?
The demo shows the shop's own idle slides until the next sale starts.
