A working day
Through the day
An optometrist tests a patient's eyes and captures the prescription against their record.
Through the day
A customer picks a frame, lens and coating; a deposit is taken and a lab job is created.
In the lab
The lab coordinator moves the job from ordered to glazed to ready.
On completion
The customer is told their glasses are ready.
Collection
The customer collects the glasses and settles the balance.
Closing
The owner checks lab-job ageing and the deposit/balance-outstanding list.
What goes wrong today
A prescription kept as a free-text note instead of real structured fields.
A deposit tracked in a separate notebook from the actual sale.
No way to see which lab jobs have been stuck too long.
A customer chased by phone call because nobody flagged their glasses as ready.
What it does
Parts marked Coming soon are on the way; founding shops get them first, at no extra charge.
Planned: capturing a prescription as real structured fields, saved against the patient record, not a free-text note.
Planned: booking the deposit as a customer advance against that specific job, using the product's existing advance-payment mechanism, so it never needs a side ledger.
Planned: a lab-job board with a status column for every job in progress, part of the wider jobs/work-orders gap the product still needs to build.
A WhatsApp message can pre-fill with one tap, the same click-to-chat already used for receipts and reminders; a person still presses send.
Shown in our demos: a discount can never take a line below cost, even on a frame clearance.
Stock is tracked by branch and warehouse across the product.
Planned: a small on-site hub that keeps the till selling through an outage.
Every sale, including a deposit, prints a real itemised receipt from the same accounting record.

Not yet. A structured SPH/CYL/AXIS/ADD/PD field set is planned; today it would be recorded as a note.

Not yet. A job board from ordered to ready is planned; jobs and work orders are a gap the product still needs to build.
A WhatsApp message can be pre-filled with one tap once that job status exists; a person still has to press send.
We haven't verified whether it's a formally regulated title everywhere; in the UK, opticians are a registered profession, and we treat that as a market difference, not a universal rule.
